This passed weekend, some of the RCB staff and students joined the Arclight Cinemas in honoring legendary choreographer Pina Bausch at the premiere of the new movie, Pina.  A big thank you to the Arclight cinemas for inviting us, and to Selena Chong, Maren Mack and Jared Leadbetter for helping out!  Check out these great photos, courtesy of Jared:

The California Open is almost here and our Premiere Dance Club competitive team is ready to go!  This year Mike Hernandez, Michael Kelley, Paula Darlas, Betty and Candy Wu, Sophia Moradi, Kathy Wimmer and Joan Bys are all competing, along with their instructors Sean, Laurel and Edvard.

While our team is all ready, we still need our cheering section!  If you’d like to cheer us on, let Jenna or Laurel know.  We can get tickets at a discounted rate until February 1st.  Tickets will also be available at the competition for those waiting until the last minute.

Want a snazzy Premiere Dance Club jacket?  We’re placing orders now!  This fun, functional jacket is warm and waterproof and great for covering up your costume before a performance, or just wearing around town to tell everyone where your favorite place to dance is!  Available in a large range of sizes, these jackets will be customized with your name on the front.  Talk to Laurel or Jenna to order yours!

Our sister studio, Havin’ a Ball Valencia, celebrated joining the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce with their first studio showcase!  Some of our students and staff were on hand to lend their support, too.  All the Havin’ a Ball students really brought the house down!  Check some of the photos and videos from the fun-filled event:

Our elite competitive team, the Premiere Dance Club, is at it again!  This time we’ll be competing at the California Open Dancesport Championships.  If you missed our last competition and you’d like to participate in this exciting opportunity, let your teacher know right away!  All dancers can compete in ballroom competitions.  There are categories for every age and skill level.  If you’d rather lend your support and your voice to our cheering section, spectator tickets are also available.  Check out www.californiaopen.com for more info, or call the front desk.

Due to a few scheduling conflicts, the annual Valentine’s Day showcase has been moved!  We will now hold it on Sunday, February 12 from 5-7 p.m.

 Whether you’re just a beginner or have a few performances already under your belt, this is your chance to show off what you’ve been working on!  This event is also a great time to invite your friends and family and show them what ballroom dancing with the Rose City Ballroom is all about.  Our sister studio, Havin’ a Ball, will be joining us.  See you there!
